"The Old Granary"
by
TL Mair
This old granary lives in the Teton valley of Idaho, in the small farming community of Felt.
As a child I remember just one of these granaries in the, at the time, small community of Heber in Utah's Heber valley, part of the Wasatch back, farmers would bring their grain in at harvest time to sell, the grain would be loaded into these very tall old buildings to be ground for flower.
The granary that used to be in Heber was right next to the railroad yard, it had a hand grinder on the outside so if a person had grain that was not cracked they could stop by the granary and grind it for themselves, I love the look of these old buildings.
In this image you can see the colors of the setting sun reflecting onto the evening clouds, and spreading it's warm glow across the valley, highlighting trees, and the tall summer grass along with the side of the buildings in this image.
I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do taking them.
Thanks for looking, have a great day!!!
